Although there are many parents who have children who participate in sports in middle and secondary schools, there were not too many attendees at last week’s meeting in the building of Spotsylvania County School Board. The meeting was informative and parents in attendance and entertaining and interesting!
There was a group composed of seven or eight of the managers of schools in the district middle school and high school and sports managers. There was a lot of questions from parents. Most of the questions concerned (1) the amount and payment due date, (2) payment to pay for sports participation, and (3) maintain a certain level or school fund-raising to support and encourage sports.
What we found in the meeting or panel’s conclusion and recommendation at the end:
Payment: Originally proposed at 125 dollars for each student in middle school and 75 per athlete top school. Panel modified to be 100 dollars per athlete to middle school or high school.
Push / Share: Require each athlete to pay but there is no guarantee they will play. I personally have an issue with that because, as P & R and YMCA coach volunteers and a follower of sport local school, I have seen many coaches operating result up in the football or basketball, and have a lot of players on the bench that do not get a chance to play again one of the game. As a parent, I have some heartburn if it happened this year.
Fundraising: Filed pesetas Panel and parents interested in right to consider a vast collection of donations in the province or school. However, these funds complement the school sports programs directly opposite to ask an athlete fee 100 dollars to play.
I wish more parents if there is, but we who were in attendance and expressed the view of many parents in Spotsylvania County. The most important thing is what is important sports in middle school and high school!
